I've been doing work for the web now for close to 10 years. During my tenure as a code monkey I have been a part of many, many projects. When approached with an offer for work, they all seem to fall within one of the following categories:
- You are asked to engineer an end-to-end solution from the ground up.
- You are asked to take over a project because the original developer dropped off the face of the planet... and ran off with all the money.
- You are asked to work within a team of developers to fulfill a project's requirements.
From my experience, there are several key things that drive me out of my mind when it comes to team-based development, one of them ranks highest above all: no standardized coding practices.

Apparently, yesterday Apple sent out beta versions of iPhone OS 3.1 to developers. So what are these features expected to be in 3.1? Here is a list of them :
- Voice control now has Bluetooth. You can use Voice Control while using a bluetooth headset.
- When trimming video clips on the 3Gs you can now save the original instead of overwriting it all together.
- MMS is now enabled.
- Vibrate function enabled for arranging icons. This is useful when you accidentally get into arrange mode.
- Launching apps, closing applications, start-up, and shutdown have improved.
- There is a Fraud Protection feature in Safari now.
- You can now copy phone numbers, using copy and paste, and paste them into the dial pad in the iPhone’s Phone application.
- OpenGL and Quartz have seen improvements.
- New APIs allow developers of third-party application to access and edit videos.

Here is a small Javascript object that does take care of browser detection. Via QuirksMode. Download the .js file below. All you need to do is dump the code below (or link the .js file you just downloaded) in your page between <script type="text/javascript"> and </script> tags, and then query the three properties of the BrowserDetect object:
BrowserDetect.browser to get the browser name.
BrowserDetect.version to get the browser version.
BrowserDetect.OS to get the operating system name.
For example, the output would be:
Browser name :
Browser version :
Operating system :

I wonder how long does it take for a company like Yahoo! to update the YSlow plugin to the latest Firefox version, which is 3.5. Days? Weeks? Months? Any bets?
That is the car we had the accident with. The remains of it. 95% damage.
Here is a small I-hate list:
- Romanian Police. Oh My God what a bunch of retarded twats. "We'll have to check if your car was hit from the back." Well, Mr. Retarded Policeman, you could always check the accident photos YOU took. Or the accident drawing YOU did. Or I don't know ... ask the witnesses? Fucking tards ....
- The "Medical"-Legal Institute "Mina Minovici" and their stupid "doctors". Apparently, I don't have a serious condition, because I didn't break any bones. Screw the head traumas, the eye injuries, the black-out period, no broken bones? FUCK YOU, mister!
- The retarded fucks that wander the RATB routes asking for tickets. Get a real job, or, as a crazy idea, try to finish elementary school? I don't know, just my 20 cents ...
